Before You Travel
Mauritania Visa
Since January 2025, Mauritania requires an e-visa applied online before arrival — no more visa-on-arrival at the airport.
Important change since January 2025
Mauritania no longer issues visas on arrival at Nouakchott or Nouadhibou airports. All travelers must obtain an e-visa before departure through the official government portal. Allow at least 7–10 days before your travel date.
We Handle It
We apply on your behalf
All Mauritania Beyond guests can have their visa application handled entirely by our team. We know the process inside-out and submit everything correctly the first time, so you can focus on packing.
Simply send us the five items listed below and we will take care of the rest. The official e-visa portal is anrpts.gov.mr — you can also apply there directly if you prefer.

Common questions
How long does the e-visa take?
Processing typically takes 5–10 business days. We recommend applying at least two weeks before your departure.
Which nationalities need a visa?
Most nationalities require a visa. A small number of countries (mainly Arab League members) are exempt. Contact us and we will confirm your specific situation.
Can I still get a visa on arrival?
No. Since January 2025, Mauritania no longer issues visas at the border or airport. You must have an approved e-visa before boarding your flight.
What if I have data protection concerns about sending my passport?
You can make the copies yourself and send us only your full name, date of birth, ID/passport number, and country of origin. We calculate with 10 copies per person for interior checkpoints.
